Biographical Data on the Gemstone Engraver Hans-Dieter Roth

- Born on May 3rd, 1948 at Idar-Oberstein, Birkenfeld District, Germany
  Son of the diamond cutter Walter Roth
- 1955-63 School at Idar-Oberstein
- 1963-66 Apprenticeship as gemstone engraver at the firm of Richard Hahn in Idar-Oberstein
- 1966-73 Worked as skilled craftsman in said firm
- 1969-70 Dravted for military service
- 1973 Master Exam as gemstone engraver
- 1973-78 Work as Master in the above mentioned firm
- From 1970 on further qualification in the Vocational College Idar-Oberstein, studies with
  Tutor Richard H. Hahn
- Member of the Examination Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- From 1977 on member of the Chamber of Crafts Koblenz Exam Committee for
- journeymen and later in the Committee for Master Exams
- 1978 Setting up own firm
- 1984 Exhibition of engravings in the style of F. Millet displayed at the Museum Idar-Oberstein
- Special Award for the firm by the Central Organisation of German Crafts for the training
  of the apprentice Andreas Roth
